About Niels

For many years I carried around a deep and sorrowful anger that I hid from the outside world. Showing anger feels forbidden because we prefer to be harmonious and controlled. From the age of about nine, I grew up in a home characterized by recurring alcohol abuse and the resulting insecurity and neglect. It was as if I was in a constant state of alert and could easily become anxious, irritable or angry. A later sick leave with stress and a subsequent divorce were the turning point in my life.

I went to psychological talk therapy for several periods, which helped me a lot, but it also became clear to me that some things are so deep in the body that they require a different approach. I tried body therapy and became aware of how much of a negative impact my mental state had on my body, which felt “locked”, stiff and sore. My curiosity to explore it and get tools to heal myself grew. And finally, it gave me the courage to train in body therapy.

I see that bodywork therapy can open the way to a deep healing process – both physically, mentally and emotionally. It has not only given me the tools to heal myself but also a deeply felt desire and an opportunity to support others on their path.

My journey into the inner life has shown me that even the most difficult things can contain a source of strength, insight and change.

As a therapist
My driving force is to support my clients in finding their physical and mental balance. I work to release tension and blockages in the body, creating a flow that provides peace, strength and more ease in both body and mind. And I believe that even small changes can make a big difference when they are met with presence and understanding. In my search for more tools, I have also focused on and trained in breathing therapy, Reiki healing, physiotherapy/sports massage and the treatment of stress and anxiety.
